SCHACHT TAPESTRY LOOMS
Takes continuous warp, either 40 or 72 inches long. Has thumb-screw
tension control. Primarily designed for two-harness weaving, but two
additional heddle bars and slots allow experimentation with four-harness
techniques. Shipped unassembled, includes instructions for assembly
and warping. Made from hard maple and finished with Danish Oil. Two
widths: 18" or 25". “A” Frame Stand fits either width.
MIRRIX TAPESTRY LOOMS
Precision engineered from aluminum, copper and steel; sturdy to work
on, designed to last pretty much forever. They are light-weight and
very well balanced. American-made. The LaniLoom comes with one 14
dent coil, texsolv cord and pegs for warping, warping bar, warping
DVD, and written instructions (no shedding device). The others come
with four coils: 8, 12, 14, 18 dents, shedding device and handle,
two large black clips, warping bar, flat wrench, allen wrench, coil
bar, warping DVD, written instructions. Coils can be used every other
slot, to set warps at 4, 5 or 6 ends per inch. Additional coils for
finer sets are available. The shedding device consists of three rods:
a thicker one with two thinner steel ones attached. The thinner ones
hold the string heddles through which the warp threads pass. A handle
rocks the device back and forth, producing two clean sheds. All Mirrix
Looms come equipped with fold-out legs that allow them to stand on
a table (the LaniLoom has just one).
For the 12" and 16" looms only, there are
loom extenders, 14" steel extensions to the vertical bars that
add at least two feet of weaving length. Continuous single-eye heddles
are a hundred long-lasting heddles in one length. All Mirrix Looms
and attachments are excluded from the Volume Discount Schedule.
