WEAVING: Mirrix Tapestry Looms
These American-made looms are precision engineered from aluminum, copper and steel; sturdy to work on, designed to last pretty much forever. They are light-weight and very well balanced. The shedding device consists of three rods: a thicker one with two thinner steel ones attached. The thinner ones hold the string heddles through which the warp threads pass. A handle rocks the device back and forth, producing two clean sheds. The looms come with written instructions, and they are all available as PDFs on the Mirrix web-site. Loreli Loom (weMLL5,
at left) This bead loom weighs 1½ LBS and measures 5" inches across. Weaving width is 2½" and warp length to 14". Stand it on a table or put it in your lap. No shedding device or leg or other accessories. Lani Loom (weMLL8, at right) Another bead loom, weighs 4 LBS. The weaving width is 5" and the length is 26". No shedding device. One included warp coil. A leg folds out to stand it upright. It sits on a table or you can also hold it in your lap or even lay it down flat on a table. Accessories and additional coils available. |

| The Zach Loom (weM122, above, at left) Weave a piece 19 inches wide and 40 inches tall on this loom. Weighs 11 LBS and is 22" wide. The Joni Loom (weM132, above, at right) Weaving width 29", length 44". Weighs 14 LBS as is 32" wide. Even sturdier than the smaller ones, with a double top and bottom beam. Can be used with the stand and treadle. The Joni and Zach both come with two fold out legs. The Zeus
Loom (weM138, at left) This is as big as a portable Mirrix Loom gets. Engineered just like the 32 inch loom, the 38 inch loom will satisfy those of you who really wanted a floor loom but could not justify the expense or give up all that space to house it. On this 38 inch wide loom you can weave a piece 35 inches wide and 46 inches long. Included: Four coils: 8, 12, 14, 18 dents, shedding device and handle, two large wooden clips, warping bar, flat wrench, allen wrench, coil bar and written instructions. |
